1. Bullet You determine the price of your items, so price to sell!

  1. Bullet Ask yourself, "Would I buy the item at this price if I saw it in the sale?" If you think it looks too worn, outdated, or stained, etc. then donate it. If you find issue with it why would you want someone else want to go home with it?  Consignor’s golden rule: Don’t sell what you wouldn’t buy!

  1. Bullet When selecting a price for an item, think of the very least you would consider taking for it and that should be your price.

  1. Bullet Don't allow yourself to get emotionally attached to the items. A general rule of thumb for consignment items is 20-30% of what you originally paid for the item.

  1. Bullet Use $1.00 increments-- instead of .50 cents, .99 cents, etc.  We will round down any prices submitted with .50 increments. For example, if you price an item at $2.50, we will sell it for an even $2.00.

  1. Bullet If you will be donating your items that do not sell, please consider letting them go at half price instead of "ND" for "no discount". We strongly recommend that you do not mark your items “ND” so that they will go ½ price on Saturday. If your item hasn’t sold at full price the first day, it will most likely not sell at full price during the half-price day.

  1. Bullet Package similar items together for quicker sale. For example, match a top with a bottom, similar theme/age books, blankets or smaller toys, etc.  For example, instead of pricing 3 separate onesies at $1.00 each, combine the 3 onesies as 1 item and sell for a price of $3 or $4 dollars. Sets generally sell better than pieces.

  1. Bullet Presentation Matters. Things that look nice on the hanger sell. So-- run the iron quickly over each piece, take the extra time to button all buttons, zip zippers, etc.

  1. Bullet Consider this a great opportunity to clean out your closets and kids’ rooms. Do not let your time and energy go to waste by not selling everything you put in the sale. Price it to sell!

  1. Bullet Wording and descriptions on your tag can be an important factor in helping an item sell. Using key words-- "like new", "hard to find", “barely used”, etc. will definitely tempt buyers to grab the item as soon as they see it.

  1. Bullet Make sure all the parts are included and work. If the battery is dead on a riding toy like a Barbie Jeep-- or even in a small electronic toy truck-- most shoppers will be leery of buying it.

  1. Bullet Clean your ride-on toys and outdoor play structures. Since they remain outside, it's not unusual that they will need a good cleaning prior to selling. Clorox wipes will usually do the trick on most ride on toys.
